United States Central Command (CENTCOM) announced it had begun launching additional strikes against Iran following previous strikes on Saturday.
“At 5 p.m. ET today, U.S. Central Command forces began launching more strikes against Iran to continue degrading their ability to attack civilian mariners and commercials ships freely transiting the Strait of Hormuz. The Commander in Chief has directed the strikes to hold Iranian forces accountable,” CENTCOM posted on Sunday.
The most recent strikes follow CENTCOM’s attacks on Saturday, which it said hit approximately 140 targets, bringing the week’s tally to over 300 as hostilities have reignited in the region.
In an earlier post, CENTCOM also rejected claims from “Iranian propaganda” that three American service members had been killed in Iranian strikes on Kuwait.
