Friday, July 23, 1926
Mob uprisings in the north and eastern provinces have now spread to the south. At Iyomura in Ehime-ken yesterday the president of the municipal assembly, Mr. Takechi, and Assemblyman Murano were beaten by rioters, the village assembly hall was wrecked and a battle ensued between the residents of five villages, more than a dozen being injured on both sides. A dispute over the removal of a school was the cause of the mob uprising.
