Pratt: I have a recording of a L.A. mayoral candidate ‘doing and saying something that would make her resign in shame’

Former reality television star and conservative Los Angeles mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt sent shockwaves through the City of Angels on Friday, claiming that he possesses incriminating recordings that will force either current Mayor Karen Bass or City Councilwoman Nithya Raman to “resign in shame.”
The explosive allegations were made in a three-minute video posted to social media, marking Pratt’s first extended public remarks since finishing third in the June 2nd primary election and failing to advance to November’s runoff.
Pratt, who centered his outsider campaign on systemic corruption and the city’s poor handling of the devastating 2025 Palisades Fire, explained that now that the “campaign portion” of his mission has concluded, his more aggressive phase of exposing city leadership will begin.
“You think you can get rid of me that easily? I know a lot of dim-witted jerks thought I was in this for a grift, that I was going to roll up and leave town if I didn’t get into City Hall… Hey, morons! I didn’t get in this for political power. I got in this to expose this corrupt machine, and nothing has changed. You enjoy your worthless meetings in City Hall… I’m going to be lighting you up every single day, and now I don’t have to worry about offending CNN viewers. I don’t have the campaign laws hamstringing me now. It’s war!” Pratt begins in the video.
Addressing both Bass and Raman directly, Pratt questioned whether they were certain that a disgruntled staff member had not recorded them engaging in disqualifying behavior, emphasizing that he hopes the two candidates remain awake at night wondering when federal investigators will raid their offices.
Pratt’s warning follows days of tension in the wake of the primary election, which saw Bass and Raman secure the top two spots to advance to the general election. The vote-counting process had already been rife with controversy after social media users and conservative analysts alleged voter fraud, noting that an update had briefly showed Pratt receiving zero votes out of a 24,000-ballot batch.
While those claims were later “debunked” by the Associated Press as an “out-of-sync data reporting lag,” Pratt has leveraged the post-election friction to launch his new offensive. He asserted that being off the campaign trail frees him from the constraints of campaign finance and election laws, allowing him to focus entirely on bringing down a corrupt political machine.
However, shortly after launching his online warning, Pratt linked a separate criminal act directly to his ongoing political crusade. Speaking exclusively to The California Post, the former candidate revealed that a “suspicious” fire had broken out at the Pacific Palisades headquarters of his business, Pratt Daddy Crystals, located inside the Highlands Circle complex at 1515 Palisades Drive.
The blaze occured after the release of Pratt’s video targeting Bass and Raman. The Los Angeles Fire Department’s Arson Unit was immediately notified of the blaze, and an active investigation into the cause remains underway.
“I want to be careful to not compromise an arson investigation, but this incident is very suspicious,” Pratt told the outlet, hours after his video was released. “I will wait for the investigators to make public the details, but this was no accident, and the timing of this…on the heels of all of the contentious election tomfoolery of the last two weeks, it is very suspect, indeed.”
