I agree with everything that Charles wrote in his post about the new-0ld video of Alex Pretti harassing ICE and kicking the agents’ car. I just want to add that what we have seen in Minneapolis was predictable, and we saw it in several cities in 2020.
There is a reason that the two people Kyle Rittenhouse shot in 2020 turned out to be men with criminal records, and depraved minds. These kinds of protests allow the mentally ill, the vaguely suicidal, and the plain violent to satisfy their urges while disguising them as virtuous action.
Even if you take the view that it was a bad shooting by ICE, and I do, the takeaway should not be that responsible citizens get strapped and go out into potential confrontations with law enforcement. As has been pointed out endlessly, every responsible concealed-carry course includes strong guidance to avoid such situations, as well as advice to be candid and almost performatively submissive with law enforcement when you are armed. No big movements. Keep your open hands in plain sight. Etc.
