Expo Visitors Stranded After Metro Suspension

OSAKA, Aug 14 (News On Japan) - A power system failure occurred at around 9:30 p.m. yesterday on the Osaka Metro Chuo Line, which connects directly to the Osaka-Kansai Expo venue, forcing a temporary suspension of service. The disruption left large numbers of visitors stranded at Yumeshima Station, the closest stop to the venue, and near the site’s entrance gates.
Limited operations resumed at around 10 p.m., with trains shuttling between Yumeshima and the adjacent Cosmo Square Station. However, as the issue remained unresolved, service on part of the line connecting to the Expo site was suspended from the first trains this morning. Full operations resumed at around 5:25 a.m.
