Noah noted this clip of Mamdani the other day. It’s just amazing to hear someone use the phrase “seize the means of production,” apparently unironically. You’d expect a less committed socialist to say, “I don’t want to seize the means of production, but . . . [fill in some outlandish policy position here].” Not Mamdani. New Yorkers can take some comfort, though, that he has not promised to liquidate the kulaks, at least not that we’re aware of.
