Resources for learning about America between the end of the Revolution and the early 1800s.

Hi, thanks in advance for any assistance you may render:
I (non American, non historian) am (foolhardily) attempting to (third set of brackets) write a historical fiction set in the aftermath of the American revolution.
I have been able to find lectures (thank you Yale) and books on the Revolution itself and the history of Louisiana and the Mississippi Delta from the Louisiana Purchase onwards. It’s been harder to find books dedicated to the intermediate and immediately succeeding period.
I’d like to learn about conflicts in Carolina between loyalists and patriots and the immediate reactions of various groups of people to the revolution. Sources on people’s (outside of the military and political actors) opinions, attitudes and experiences would be of great assistance too.
Thank you again (final set of brackets).
