Telangana Excise officials nab Odisha-based drug queenpin

Sangeeta Sahu, alias Geeta Sahu, alleged ganja supplier from Odisha, was arrested by the State Task Force (STF) of the Telangana Excise Department. The team travelled to Odisha where she was arrested with the help of the local police and was brought to Telangana for questioning.
Sahu, originally from Khallikote village, has been actively involved in the wholesale distribution of ganja for the past four years. Operating close to Bhubaneswar, she developed connections with major ganja traders across multiple States, supplying large quantities of the contraband based on the demand.
The accused was implicated in multiple cases, including four in Dhoolpet, Hyderabad. She is accused of providing 29 kilograms and 11.3 kilograms of ganja to suspects involved in two major cases and Dhoolpet Excise officials registered cases against her based on the statements of other accused.
She was earlier arrested by the Secunderabad Railway Police in 2022 for smuggling ganja into Hyderabad and was subsequently jailed. Despite her arrest, she continued to expand her network and engage in large-scale illicit ganja trade. Investigation is underway to identify others links and dismantle the network operating across State borders.
