In push to end Ukraine war, Trump to discuss ceasefire with Putin tomorrow

US President Donald Trump has said he will speak with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday as part of efforts to end the ongoing war in Ukraine.
Speaking to reporters on Air Force One while travelling from Florida to Washington on Sunday, Trump said, “We will see if we have something to announce maybe by Tuesday. I will be speaking to President Putin on Tuesday.”
He added that significant progress had been made over the weekend, stating, “We want to see if we can bring that war to an end”, reported by Associated Press (BBC).
The war, which began three years ago with Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, is still ongoing. While Moscow did not succeed in overthrowing the Ukrainian government, it continues to control large parts of the country.
Trump said that key topics in the talks would include land and power plants. “We will be talking about land. We will be talking about power plants,” he explained, describing the discussions as “dividing up certain assets”.
