Security Arrangements For Last Day Of Maha Kumbh
The police have made strict arrangements for the concluding day of the Maha Kumbh and deployed extra forces on the ground in response to the massive turnaround of devotees today. To ease the devotees’ visit to Prayagraj, the administration has ensured better coordination with railways and airport authorities to provide better management to the travellers.
Senior police officials have been deployed at all the junctions and parking spaces for better management.
SSP Maha Kumbh, Rajesh Dwivedi, said that the locals as well as the visiting pilgrims have been lining up to take the Snan at Sangam today and a total of over 65 crore devotees have attended the congregation so far.
“Nobody wants to miss out on this opportunity. The people of the city of Prayagraj are also visiting this Snan in huge numbers. That is why, since midnight, we are seeing a huge inflow of pilgrims. Because of our schemes, there is a very convenient outflow and everyone is glad to be a part of this occasion on Maha Shivratri. They are also visiting the Shiv Mandirs in the Maha Kumbh area in large numbers," he said.
The government has taken a number of steps to avert any situation similar to the January 29-like stampede that killed over 30 people and left dozens injured. As part of the prevention measures, the administration has ensured efficient crowd management. Enhanced sanitation and adequate medical facilities have also been ensured.
This is further strengthened by comprehensive arrangements for security, transportation, and emergency response systems.
