Eric Swalwell Reaches Peak of TDS-Mountain, Blames Small Plane Crash on Trump

Eric Swalwell is a legend. Even in a party that features Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) and Sen. Mazie Hirono (D-HI), the California Dem Rep. is famous for his often preposterous takes, his affair with a Chinese spy, and his apparent gaseous emissions live on air.

But his angle on a recent small plane crash in Georgia is perhaps his most intellect-challenged opinion yet. The plane crashed in Covington, Georgia and tragically left two people dead. Rather than mourn the lost souls and show some dignity, Swalwell decided it was a good time to cast blame—before all the facts are known—and he knows just who’s at fault: Donald Trump.
No president has had more planes crash in their first month in office than Donald Trump. https://t.co/3nyRtR1xeb

White House communications director Steven Cheung, not known to take slights lying down, struck back, hard.
"Swalwell must be taking his orders from Fang Fang or suffering from a severe debilitating case of Trump Derangement Syndrome because there is no other reason anyone with a functioning brain would make that that type of false and disgusting claim. He is a complete disgrace not only as an elected official, but as a human being who has continued to beclown himself," Cheung said.
Yup, that about sums it up.
Swalwell has a long history of unhinged—and frankly strange—social media posts and rants in the hallowed halls of Congress.

I was and can continue to be a harsh Joe Biden critic—and he deserves every bit of it and more—but I would never in a million years blame a small plane crash on him, especially before all the facts are even known. Trump has been in office less than a month, and all plane crashes are his fault?
According to many folks, Swalwell is also just plain flat-out wrong:
This is false. According to the NTSB’s official CAROL database of aviation accident investigations, there have been 50 accidents since Trump was inaugurated. By contrast, NTSB recorded 94 aviation accidents during Biden’s first month in office in 2021. https://t.co/vpkR8R3g9v

Many states are experiencing harsh weather right now. That is Trump’s fault too, I would imagine. There’s also the story of the asteroid heading toward Earth which has a two percent chance of hitting us. Darn you, Donald Trump! That’s your doing too.
People had thoughts on Swalwell’s hot takes:
What kind of flatulent prone, state representative uses human tragedy for political gain?
