You might remember that during Donald Trump’s first term in the Oval Office, Melania did not move into the White House right away, opting instead to stay in New York City and raise their son Barron. The Washington press went nuts with conspiracy theories about how she was a kept woman, a virtual hostage, and that she actually despised her husband and wanted to divorce him as soon as humanly possible.

Contrast that to the glowing coverage they gave former First Lady Michelle Obama, who seems to be growing increasingly bitter in recent months, and Jill Biden, who many believe committed elder abuse by urging her husband to continue his reelection bid despite obvious cognitive issues.

Of course, as usual, the majority of the press got it completely wrong, and the First Lady has embraced the job the second go around and seemed to be genuinely thrilled to be part of this Great Experiment on its 249^th birthday.

During the festivities, she even replicated the president’s signature dance move done to the Village People’s 1978 smash hit, “YMCA”:
