So I still cannot comprehend what happened. It was 8 years ago and I'm still a bit confused or unsure what to think, about how I feel about the paranormal as well.

I was with my ex and two friends, we decided to spend the night at a friend's parents house as they had an outhouse and we were going to have a drink. It was an old barn they had renovated so it was basically one large building but it had a small room inside. You walk in, the room is on the left, had some instruments and bookcases, then the main area has steps up to a raised bit with a bannister where you could overlook the rest of the place. We had mattresses up there to sleep. Our friend told us the place was haunted but we laughed it off and took it as bullshit, it was cosy and didn't feel off, plus none of us really believed in it either.

Middle of the night, we have moved to the mattesses, chatting away and we hear a bang from the room. Sounds like the drums which is weird as hell, then tons of bangs. We are understandably freaked out and our friend laughs and tells us that we knew it was haunted. We go to check out the room and all the books are on the floor, scattered everywhere. No windows in the room, the only door is where we can see it and can only be accessed by the barn door we can also see. I'd be lying if I said we didn't move into the house because we were terrified.

Still don't know how to explain what happened but the friend maintains it was an old lady ghost who does that kind of thing. No obvious strings or anything on bookcases in case he wanted to pull a shitty prank. Just an inexplicable night that I want to make sense of.
