U.S. Open live golf scores, results, highlights from Friday's Round 2 leaderboard

Day one at the 2025 U.S. Open proved to be a difficult test.
Oakmont promised to be a difficult track, and despite limited wind along with rain that slowed the greens, the course was exactly that. In the first round, only 10 players shot below par, and just 19 players total were able to avoid shooting above par.
Of the field, J.J. Spaun had the best day, shooting the only bogey-free round of the tournament so far. It was the first bogey-free round at Oakmont since the first round of the 2016 U.S. Open, which was done by eventual champion Dustin Johnson.
Spaun's had two runner-up finishes this year, inlcuding at The Players, but he is still looking for his first win since the 2022 Valero Texas Open.
MORE U.S. OPEN NEWS:
Elsewhere, South African Thriston Lawrence is in sole possession of second place after a strong round of 67, while Brooks Koepka, Sungjae Im, and Si Woo Kim are all tied for third. On the other hand, big names like Rory McIlroy, Scottie Scheffler, and Bryson DeChambeau all had their share of struggles and are flirting with the cut line entering Friday.
However, there are still 54 holes to play, and the conditions should mean that anything could happen. As Round 2 arrives Friday, the challenges will continue at Oakmont.
The Sporting News is tracking live scoring updates and highlights from Round 2 of the 2025 U.S. Open at Oakmont.

8:25 a.m. — The overgrown rough got a lot of negative publicity leading up to the U.S. Open and it ended up being cut down. Still, with a high rough and fast greens, Viktor Hovland decided he'd rather try putting from the second cut, and it worked.
No need to get fancy, just take putter from the first cut!
