Takeaways from U.S. Men's National Team's Nations League roster
U. S. Men's National Team coach Mauricio Pochettino announced his 23-man roster Tuesday for the Nations League fixtures.
The USMNT, which seeks its fourth consecutive Nations League title, will face Panama in the tournament semifinals Thursday.
“This is a massive opportunity to win a trophy and that is our clear objective,” Pochettino said, per USSoccer.com. “We must continue to show our quality, our bravery and our commitment to each other."
Here are the biggest takeaways from Pochettino's player selections:
Key stars are finally returning to the USMNT fold
The last time we saw midfielder Tyler Adams in a USMNT jersey he was lasering in a golazo against Mexico in the 2024 Nations League final.
The 26-year-old has struggled with injuries since, but he's finally back to his world-beating best, and his inclusion in this roster should seriously upgrade the USMNT. Adams is playing especially well for Bournemouth in the Premier League and has more than earned his USMNT return.
