A woman, along with her lover, kidnapped her own son and demanded a ransom of Rs 25 lakh from her family for building a house in the Chhapra district of Bihar, said the police.
The police arrested the woman, identified as Babita Devi, and her lover Nitish Kumar after the lady confessed to hatching a plan to kidnap her son, reported India Today.

A complaint was filed with the police by the uncle of the 13-year-old boy, Aditya Kumar, regarding the boy’s kidnapping after which the matter came to light, said Saran Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kumar Ashish.
The man said that the kidnappers had threatened to kill the boy if the family failed to pay Rs 25 lakh ransom, said the official.
An investigation was carried out by the police during which they became suspicious about Aditya Kumar’s mother Babita Devi.
After the police caught the woman and brought her to the police station for questioning, the mother confessed to her involvement in the kidnapping.
SSP Ashish said that Babita shared the whereabouts of her lover Nitish Kumar and accepted that she had kidnapped her son with her lover to get money for building their separate house.
After the confession of Babita, the police team reached the house of Nitish Kumar where he was arrested, and Aditya Kumar was soon released from his captivity in Patna.
